ELECTRICITY IN GUATEMALA / TYPES OF PLUGS AND OUTLETS

In Guatemala, the plugs and sockets are type A or B.

Type A has two parallel flat pins and type B has two parallel flat pins and a grounding pin.

Type A: Japanese pegs can often be used in the USA but at least not the other way around.

Type B: sometimes for A-pins.

In Casa Santo Domingo Hotel, the voltage in the rooms is 120V, in some halls the voltage is 220V and the voltage frequency is 60Hz. If the voltage in your country is between 100V and 127V (like in the US), the US, Canada, and most South American countries, you can use your computer. If your appliances are only made for 220V – 250V (such as in Europe, Australia, and most of Asia), you will not be able to use them and you will need a voltage converter or a voltage converter with a type A or B adapter. If the frequency of the voltage in your country is different from that of Guatemala (120V), some devices may not work properly.

It is suggested to travel with your own adapters and equipment.
